Killing Gods & Demons
Our static party, Frontline, had quite a busy night tonight. And it had nothing to do with the usual leveling grind. On a whim (though it's something we've been wanting to do together for a long time as a team), we decided to hunt two avatars — Titan and Garuda. Valenya subbed for Vermin and boy did her capped enhancing skill come in handy. :D Both avatars were cakewalks. Halfway through our first battle of the night, Titan unleashed his Earthen Fury. I remember quickly glancing at the party's life meters and seeing Sykopath with 380 or so (out of 1200+) hit points remaining. I quickly sent a Cure III his way (as I'm sure the other mages did as well)... and I remember saying in party chat (|Congratulations!|) :)
That is, “Congratulations! You survived the deadliest attack!” ;)
And “Congratulations! Victory is now ours!” :D
Those avatars are so much easier now... Garuda went down just as quickly, though it felt like she put up more of a fight than Titan. Anyway, I look forward to more avatar fights... even though technically, this is now my third time mowing them down. :) First all 6 solo, then all 6 in parties (where I traded all the whispers for the Moon Bauble — Fenrir will be mine someday), now Titan and Garuda, starting yet another set of 6. This time I'll just trade whispers for items or gil...
Anyway afterwards, Vermin replaced Peorth and we headed off to Castle Zvahl Baileys. It was more or less uneventful running through the castle. At level 65, we barely got any aggro. The only bit of fun & excitement on the way to the Shadow Lord's throne room was when a massive train of demons started chasing after me. (Because I slept them earlier, as we were teleporting around the Keep.) Well, when they caught up to me, I slept them again and made a mad dash for the zone. I got pounded to 200 or so HP, but luckily, I survived... as did everyone else.
The Shadow Lord fight (my 3rd one now) was also quite easy. During his 2nd form, I barely had enough time to cast an attack spell and a Curaga before he was down to a sliver of life. I guess most things are easier now that the average level of our party is 64. :)
