Change of Allegiance

After attaining 40,000 conquest points last night, I went ahead and got myself a Republic Gold Medal. I really didn't have anything else to spend all those conquest points on. (None of the rank 9 or 10 items looked enticing enough to save all those points either.) I still prefer my Star Necklace through, because of the consistency. (And after all, when I'm leveling, how often do I get a chance to rest to full MP?) But it's nice to have the option of having an additional 35 MP... should I happen to be in an area not under my nation's control.

Which is now Windurst. :D

Bastok and San d'Oria have become quite strong in conquest these past few weeks. It's good to see the Windurstian domination broken. Anyway, the post rank 6 Bastok storyline doesn't seem all that compelling. I have no real interest to reach rank 10 (but I have no doubt I will attempt it someday). So I decided that now was a good time to switch to Windurst while they were ranked third.

Now I feel like a noob again, doing all these low-rank missions. But instead of being \<10, I'm a level 66 noob. ;) I've decided to savor the Windurstian missions, and I will most likely not skip any. (I will also avoid looking at any guides or FAQs.) There is no longer the urgency to attain rank 5 for the general airship pass. (Thankfully, I retained my original airship pass.) I will probably take the Windurst missions to rank 6 or so and then decide then if I would like to go further.

But why Windurst instead of San d'Oria? :) Despite being an awful place to run around and quest in, I found the inhabitants of Windurst to be a little more friendly then San d'Oria's. I just got really really tired of hearing "...now move along, foreigner!" in San d'Oria. ;) Also, I wanted the key that would let me open the three-mage gate in the Horutoto Ruins...

Anyway, Windurst missions, Zilart missions, Promathia missions... I'm going to be very very busy.
